Currently there are 48 hectares of Avocados planted on Amorentia Estate – our produce either goes to the export market or is sold locally depending on the season. We produce a mixture of Fuerte, Hass, Ryan and Pinkerton cultivars. Most of the orchards established on the farm are from seedling rootstocks and have been producing good tonnages for between 25 and 35 years. We are however following modern trends and market demands and our latest plantings are the very popular Pinkerton cultivar. We will also be establishing Maluma trees this year.
A total of 45 hectares of Macadamia nuts are planted on Amorentia Estate. We export our produce in-shell to China as well as the kernel to European and American markets. The majority of our planting are 791 with Beaumont following in second place. We have the entire range of cultivars established on the farm. These trees are closely monitored as we use their records for nursery marketing and advice. Our nursery material is from mother blocks established on the farm that has been monitored for many years.
Our Pecan trees are almost 50 years old. We produce between 5 and 10 tonnes of Pecan nuts annually. These nuts are cracked on the farm and sold across the country in small quantities. Contact the office to place your orders.
